Berufserfahrung von Christina Glantschnig

  • Bis heute 8 Jahre, seit Aug. 2017

    Postdoctoral Researcher

Helmholtz Zentrum München - Institute for Diabetes and Cancer

In my postdoctoral work, I focus on molecular endocrinology and small RNAs, in particular how they interact with the stress hormone receptor, the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). I am especially interested in potential sexual dimorphisms in this area, as most past research was restricted to males, and I do believe that females are a substantial subcohort.

  • 3 Monate, Juli 2012 - Sep. 2012

    Student research assistant

    Karl Franzens Universität Graz

Molecular biology work integrated into a research project, involving cloning, protein expression and protein purification in preparation for NMR.

  • 4 Monate, März 2012 - Juni 2012

    Teaching assistant

    University of Graz

As a TA for the Biochemistry lab course in the bachelor's program "Molecular Biology", I assist and teach students how to extract the enzyme LDH from a pig's heart, glycogen from a rat's liver, and doing ELISAs.

  • 2 Monate, Feb. 2011 - März 2011

    Volunteer, student assistant

    University of Graz

Laboratory intern, lipid extraction from yeast cells, thin layer chromatography, MS Excel statistical analysis, coordinating the timeframe of my own experiments, using a Leica SP5 confocal fluorescence microscope

Ausbildung von Christina Glantschnig

  • 2 Jahre und 3 Monate, Mai 2015 - Juli 2017

    PhD: Molecular Metabolism

    Helmholtz Zentrum München

Institute for Diabetes and Cancer (IDC) Helmholtz Center Munich My research shifted toward the regulation of a microRNA of and by the glucocorticoid receptor in white adipose tissue.

  • 2 Jahre und 3 Monate, Mai 2015 - Juli 2017

    PhD: Molecular Metabolism

    Technische Universität München

My thesis work includes basic research in human adipogenesis, obesity and diabetes as well as non-coding RNAs. There is an added focus on brown and "brite" human adipose tissue and how it can be leveraged to combat the pandemics of obesity and diabetes.

  • 1 Jahr und 9 Monate, Sep. 2013 - Mai 2015

    PhD: Molecular biology

    Technische Universität Graz

My PhD journey started at the TU Graz in Austria, where I learned the ropes as a researcher for the first 1.5 years of my PhD.
