Dr. Daniela Nakagawa

As part of a JSPS research project, I recruited 50+ participants for experiments in neuroscience, acquired, analyzed, and presented experimental data, performed small animal (in-vivo and ex-vivo) imaging (MRI), and spectroscopy (MRS) in Bruker's 11.7T scanner, and post-processed image data. Helped to strengthen the relations between international research groups.

Developed state-of-the-art scientific reports based on +70 scientific papers, analyzed +20 patents looking for potential pharmaceutical drugs and tailored experimental hypotheses to develop new medical treatments. Consulted the CEO on scientific content regarding the neuroscience of movement, motivation, and habit formation. Pitched Technology Transfer consulting services to +100 Mexican Chambers of Commerce and Mexican research institutes.

Simultaneously designed and managed 2-3 scientific projects on a yearly basis, acquired, and analyzed scientific data that resulted in 3 scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and presented my results at 10+ weekly seminars, congresses, and public events.

Collaborated with 2 Ph.D. students and a Principal Investigator to run, under deadlines and on a daily basis, 100+ experiments on pre-clinical pharmacological research on Alzheimer’s disease. Performed: Cell culture, Western Blot, Bradford, Ellman's Test, Synaptosomes Technique, and Radioligand Binding.

Studied the evolution of the mental mechanisms that support language acquisition.

Concurrently worked as a laboratory technician at the UAB and study for my MSc degree until I joined the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group at the UB to start working on my master-thesis project for which I received a grade of 9/10.

Transferred to the 2nd year of Biology studies after validating my grades from the UAG, which the UAB, by law, converted to the minimum passing grade (5/10). At the UAB I specialized in Biomedical Biology.
