Danish Nazir

As an industrial PhD student, my responsibilities are to develop novel methods, which can be integrated into the VW products. In particular, my PhD thesis focuses on designing efficient foundation models for automated driving. I have also worked on distributed applications for downstream tasks such as semantic segmentation.

My responsibilities range from developing cutting-edge methods (Computer Vision and Deep Learning ) to software development (FullStack) in the field of document and pattern analysis. Moreover, I am also working on incorporating active learning techniques into an existing product that is used for object detection and recognition. Additionally, I am also responsible for publishing research papers in international journals.

Improve the company's existing products by developing state-of-the-art methods (CNN, Transformers, etc) in the field of object detection, human tracking, and face recognition applications. Furthermore, I was also responsible for leading the architectural design decisions. During my role, I was also given the chance to lead a team of 5 developers.

I was responsible for the seamless integration between hardware (ARM-based Single-board-computers) and software (Intelligent Algorithms). Furthermore, I also worked with object detection problems and implemented state-of-the-art research papers. Besides, I also developed a customer portal for surveillance products using Javascript frameworks. Additionally, I was also responsible for designing and deployment of trained model pipelines on cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform
