Title of project: Isolation and selection of yeasts for the optimization of the process of bioethanol production from plant biomass. 1) Research and study of cellulolytic bacteria capable of hydrolyzing and / or fermenting the crystalline cellulose as sole carbon source. 2) Biotechnological essays to determinate the cellulolytic activity of bacteria isolated from plant biomass: essays in Petri dishes to study xilanasic, ligninolitic, exo- endocellulolitic, pectinolitic, and cellobiasic activity.

Title of the project: Isolation, identification and molecular characterization of microorganisms. 1) Microbial characterization, isolation and selection of methanogenic bacteria for the optimization of the process of methanogenesis from the organic matrix of solid urban waste. 2) Isolation and study of PGPR (plant growth Promoting rhizobacteria). Research and study of nitrifying and nitrosing bacteria into soil, waste or remains of animals and plants by the MPN technique and related tables Mc Crady.

Research project: 1) Wine Lactic Acid Bacteria characterization and identification and their employment for high quality of white and red wine winemaking. 2) Microbiological molecular characterization, in particular of Lactic Acid Bacteria for achievement of certain malolactic fermentation and the improvement of Piedmont wines traits. 3) Scientific research of wine bacterial and fungal microflora and their application in enological field.
