Pushing the development of the optical engine for the Spiden wearable. Guiding the prototyping and final large-scale fabrication with expertise, feasibility analyses, optical design and modelling.

Leading industrial projects, conceptional design, thin film optics, integrated sensing, light management based on organics, holographic / optical security features for anti-counterfeiting, replicated optical devices, micro-optical elements, printable sensors, novel embossing and printing technologies, as well as combinations of these in highly integrated and compact systems.

Responsible for the development of a new base technology for the combined resonant (few Hz up to 40kHz) and static/linear 2D electrostatic actuation of scanning micromirrors (pico-projectors), known today as "LinScan"-Technology. Leading and planning of research projects, conceptional microsystems design, simulation, and technology development. Projects comprised not only high precision resonant 2D micromirrors for viewing and sensing, but also technology development for high-precision 3D micro-parts (e.g. for very high-quality clockworks and/or medical applications).

PhD at the Laboratory for Micro-Optics (Prof. Hans Zappe) Design, simulation, cleanroom fabrication and characterization of optical microsystems, besides teaching and conducting practical training courses in electrical engineering and optics.
