Deirdre Hjelle

I am an artist specializing in custom designed and hand cut intarsia style stone mosaics for residential and commercial applications. My inlays have been installed in floors, walls, fireplace surrounds, tub, shower , and pool surrounds. The finished mosaic inlays are created using several different media: stone, glass, metals, leather and precious and semi-precious stones.

I studied toward a double major in Art and Biology with a plan for completing a degree in Medical Illustration. I completed my studies at the University of Iowa with a degree in Fine Art.
