I tried to define the outer-clasp of the β1 integrin transmembrane domain which plays an essential role in the regulation of β1 integrins activation. Some key expertise were mouse genetics, immune-techniques, and intracellular export, stability and recycling of cell surface receptors. I explored my previous knowledge in platelet- and microparticles-biology to collaborate with other working groups and institutions.

I unravel the signaling molecules linking the PAR-/LPA-receptors to cofilin-dephosphorylation and granular secretion in activated platelets. We coined the Rac1-PAK-Cofilin-phosphatase signaling pathway responsible for this process and suggested to target coilin phosphatase for prevention of platelets pathological role during thrombosis and atherosclerosis. Some experimental skills applied were western blotting, platelet biology, flow cytometry, antibody screening and drugs/inhibitors dose-response testing.

I worked on signaling involved in the progression and prevention of thrombosis and atherosclerosis during my Ph.D. It involved deciphering the regulation of cofilin-phospho cycle and its role during platelet and endothelial cells activation by physiological as well as pathological agonists. We hypothesize that enzymes regulating the cofilin phospho-cycle in platelets and endothelial cells could be potential targets for the development of anti-thrombotic drugs and cardiovascular diseases.
