Doctor of Natural Sciences (Ph.D.)
Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Saarland University
- Developing a sequence to graph alignment based algorithm to quantify gene expression using transcriptome reads from Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology. - Developed an algorithm to process a transcriptome read dataset which is given as an input to a sequence assembler. The algorithm uses set-cover optimization to remove reads which might be used by a sequence assembler. Thereby, it reduces the probability of misassemblies being generated and resource requirements.

Cluster of Excellence, MMCI, Saarland University
-Developed a transcriptome downstream analysis pipeline named as SOS which performs error correction using SEECER algorithm, transcriptome assembly using OASES and expression analysis using SAILFISH algorithm. -The pipeline was written using python 2.7 and was tested on various datasets of different sequence coverage and read lengths. -Tutored a class of more than 30 students taking the course "Algorithms for Sequence Analysis" in Summer semester 2015 and 2016
- 1 Jahr und 9 Monate, Juli 2011 - März 2013
Junior Research Fellow
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
-Developed an algorithm named SHARP to predict gene protein reaction association in 8 species of cyanobacteria. -The algorithm was written in perl and was fully automated. -Also provided computational support to the research work of Prof Pramod Wangikar and Prof Ganesh Viswanathan
