I have designed a small bioactive molecule as a potential anti-cancer agent to treat MLL-AF9 Acyte Myeloid Leukaemia. Organic synthesis methods were extensively employed to synthesize a high-quality compound.NMR and MS were used to determine the structure of the produced compound while HPLC/MS and LC/MS were employed to evaluate its purity level. Following chemical synthesis, the generated inhibitor was tested in vitro on leukemic cells (THP-1 cell line) by employing various cell based assays.

My bachelor thesis aimed to develop an alternative, environmental friendly waste treatment technique. I have employed an heterogenous photocatalytic technique which targets to biodegrade contaminants of emerging concern in water samples. Briefly, the degradation of an extensively used antidepressant drug was evaluated due to various experimental conditions, trying to optimize the method efficiency. HPLC/MS and UV-Vis spectrometry were used to determine the levels of bupropion in the samples.

My duties included supervising the production process and ensuring high quality standards of the product on each step of the production. Samples were collected for further analysis in the company’s laboratories while others were sent to the appropriate government departments. Safety and quality documents were collected.
