Ran a worldwide team researching ~80 vendors in the data space that compete with MongoDB; output ranged from white papers, to videos, to podcasts, to presentations, to enablement sessions, including collaboration with many other business functions (sales, marketing, product management, operations, etc).

In this position I was responsible for facilitating Service Automation sales across EMEA. This required involvement in strategic accounts, including business case development, process audits and return on investment estimation, as well as technical work such as leading proof of concept or proof of value activities and presenting business solutions integrating multiple products.

After the acquisition of BladeLogic by BMC, I became the senior consultant in Italy for Service Automation. In this role I dealt with technical qualification and support of sales operations in Italy, and also assisted with strategic Service Automation opportunities outside Italy, notably in Germany and Spain. Principal products: BMC BladeLogic, BMC Atrium Orchestrator / Run Book Automation (formerly RealOps), BMC Configuration Automation for Networks (Emprisa).

In this position I was responsible for technical qualification and support of sales operations in Southern Europe. As the first technical employee in the region, I had a broad brief, which went from highly demanding technical proof of concept activities to business-value presentations to CIOs and IT managers. Being part of a tight-knit team also gave me the opportunity to develop my sales experience very quickly, largely thanks to the chance to work side-by-side with very experienced and senior people.

In this role I was responsible for direct support of sales people throughout Europe via remote product demonstrations, customer visits and assistance during evaluations and proofs of concept. This experience helped me to develop my ability to multi-task and prioritize activities, as I often found myself simultaneously involved with sales opportunities on different products with different sales people in different countries and languages.

Departmental system administrator (~150 users) for e-mail, file servers, web servers, databases and ad-hoc services on HP-UX, Linux and Windows.
