Home of the Vodafone Derby - the oldest flat race in the world - but only races for 11 days each year, the role was to sell and market the facilities available on non-racing days. The Conference Centre hosts 700 events each year including Exhibitions, Wedding Receptions, Meetings, Dinners for up to 400 guests and Film shoots. Responsible for commercial sales of the facilities, leading and motivating the sales team to achieve income and customer service targets and developing the portfolio of events held

Sales, Marketing and Brand development to attract new members, retention initiatives to maintain existing membership levels and strategies for membership sales in the Corporate market.

Early experience in the professional sports industry ranged from liaising with Private Box owners at Newcastle United, a VIP launch of the NUFC pitch view restaurant, organising Raceday hospitality for 3,000 covers through to setting up the new Stadium for Sunderland Football Club and liaison with both Corporate and private customers to ensure that every aspect of their Event or Hospitality experience went smoothly. Also seconded to work at a variety of North East sporting venues including Newcastle Race
