Worked for BT in Hungary in a senior administrator role, partially supervising the work of the junior colleagues, while mentoring them, and providing them with all the necessary information and knowledge to be able to fullfil their duties.

EMC VMAX, Vplex, VNX, Netapp and Tivoli TSM Administration in financial environment

I work for A1 (mobilkom Austria) as a contractor in a Storage Engineer role. My main responsibilty is to take care of everything in storage, provisioning, monitoring, healthchecks, problem solving, architectural/capacity planning and independent project management. A1's has its infrastructure in Austria and in Serbia – ~50 different EMC VMAX, Symmetrix, VNX, Clariion, Centera, Celerra, HP P9500 & 3PAR, Hitachi HDS AMS 2000 and NetApp Filer boxes in a Brocade FC environment in 7 datacenters.

Provide business and technical support and create/maintain architectural documentation in the Storages and System areas for new systems and new customers, as well as to help the application teams with performance problems and propose changes to their HW elements to resolve these issues. In a support role I work with Oracle/OBIEE/OWB on CentOS 5.2 (RedHat) Linux x86/64, SAS 9.1.3 Business Intelligence system on Windows Server 2003 x64, and SAS 9.2 migration on the Windows and the CentOS.

I joined MSCI Barra with a 6 months fixed term contract as a Storage Engineer in the Platform Team. The company is building its own infrastructure, including two Hitachi AMS500, two AMS1000 and two USP-V SAN storage boxes, as well as about 20 Network Appliance FAS2020, FAS3070 and S550 NAS, located in the 3 duplicated datacentres in Geneva, Nevada and Hong Kong, and the local offices. I participated in the configuration, performance tuning and capacity planning.

From 1st May to 13th October I worked in Sheffield at the BT NSOC Bridge as a SUN Solaris System Administrator. The NHS Service Operation Center is the central operation and control platform of the largest civil IT project in the world for the British National Health Service, for which BT provides the software and SUN provides the hardware. The NSOC Bridge supervises the system and provides first/second level support on a 24/7 basis for about 1900 SUN machines from V210s to Fire 25k's.

Huntress IT, a UK agency contracted me to work for Amdocs, an Israeli company. Amdocs works on the new billing system for Vodafone Hungary – the Phoenix Project. I did system administration and maintenance, took care of user environments, configuration, backup, clusters, etc. I worked with Sun Cluster, Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Netbackup, as well as Clariions and Symmetrix DMX boxes. When my contract with Amdocs ended Vodafone hired me full time a I simply continued my work for 1,5 years more.
