I employed cell culture, mass spectrometry and immunological techniques, such as FACS, immunofluorescence assay, ELISA and antibody functional assays in order to investigate my research question: the role of ring-infected erythrocytes in protective immunity against falciparum malaria. I also conducted the following responsibilities: • Supervised undergraduate and post graduate students during thesis and laboratory rotation • Participated in practical training of medical students

I was based at the biochemistry and molecular biology department where I had the privilege to prepare lecture courses, tutor students one to one and in groups, prepare examinations and grade assignments, lab reports, continuous assessment quizzes and final examinations.

I was based at the biomedical laboratory science department where I had the privilege to prepare lecture courses, tutor students one to one and in groups, prepare examinations and grade assignments, lab reports, continuous assessment quizzes and final examinations.

Trained on the following: • Rearing of mosquitoes in the insectary • Extraction of Nucleic acids • Molecular biology techniques e.g. Conventional PCR, real time qPCR • Editing and analysis of sequences using Bioinformatics software

I trained on the following: • Culture and Drug sensitivity testing of Tuberculosis • Serology testing, measure of viral load and CD4 counting for HIV testing

I trained on the following: • Culture and Drug sensitivity testing of Tuberculosis (Clinical microbiology) • Serology testing, measure of viral load and CD4 counting for HIV testing (Clinical serology)

I attained hands on training on microbiology, parasitology, molecular biology and biotechnology techniques, and animal maintenance

I employed molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid extraction, conventional PCR, real time qPCR and next generation sequencing in order to address my research question: response to pyrethroids in heavy metal tolerant Anopheles gambiae vector of malaria.

I acquired the basic foundation of both natural sciences and technology. I also conducted a bachelor's thesis where I aimed to determine the effect of long term administration of aqueous garlic extract on liver fibrosis induced by Schistosoma mansion.
