In May 2007 Siemens A&D acquired UGS and made it a new independent division of Siemens A&D, named Siemens PLM Software. After long discussions between Siemens and myself, we decided that it was best that I continued my career outside Siemens and we found a mutually satisfying financial agreement for me to leave the company on April 30th 2008.

In 2005 UGS acquired Tecnomatix and kept the Shop Floor Division independent. Under UGS our healthy growth became even stronger and we restarted capturing new key accounts.

I was in charge of the SEMEA region with three countries with direct offices and teams (Italy, France and Austria/Switzerland) plus 9 distributors. It was the same region I was managing in USDATA, but part of the newly created Shop Floor Division of Tecnomatix. With this acquisition our business restarted a healty growth.

I opened the Italian subsidiary in January 1991 and helped expanding the HMI/SCADA business of the flagship product FactoryLink in the South Europe, Middle-East and Africa region. In 2003 the Israeli company bought the assets and liabilities of USDATA, which meant USDATA became an empty box and closed down the entities.

Selling ATE (automatic test equipment) to East-European Markets with main operating base in Prague. Learning to negotiate and win big bucks contracts (up to 1 M US$ per equipment); also learned how to deal in very difficult competitive situations and to decide in an independent way.

Managing the techincal services, including technical support, training and consulting for the Tecnost customers using the ATE's sold by the company in the French and Swiss market.

Developing real-time test software applications in several programming languages including various assembler, fortran IV, Pascal and others. Delivering equipment to international customers and training them to use the equipment.

I was translating foreign electronic patents from English, French and German into Italian for the legal deposit in the Italian Patent Office. This first experience gave me very good bases for proficiency in foreign languages.
