Member of global team to design, implement and support service offering (finance) for multi-country clients. S4/HANA, CFIN implementation - Parttime (60-80%) Member of design and transition team responsible to prepare (map) and activate replication for EMEA countries between 6 SAP instances (using both ClassicGL and NewGL) to S4/HANA Central Finance (CFIN) system. Scope: 35 countries; 165 source entities merging into 139 target entities (in CFIN); ‘model company’ design, approx. 56.000 mapping rules for primary and secondary accounts, tax code mappings, alternative (legal) accounts.

Responsibilities / assignment: investigate, design and support improvements in global ERP system (SAP) and corporate reporting system (Hyperion Financial Management / HFM) with the objective to better align data exchange between both systems and reduce manual workload. Rollout in 50 countries / 99 company codes.

Responsibilities / assignment: the interim Controller’s assignment involved two main areas: (1) perform / bridge the Controller’s function for AkzoNobel Headquarter in anticipation of a new finance organization and (2) prepare carve out financials for head office NL in view of the divestment of the Chemicals division.

Support local finance team with various accounting and reporting topics: - Clarifying IFRS and legal books; adoption of multi-GAAP concept (SAP) - Carve out of a part of the business activities to new legal entity; initial setup of accounting & reporting tasks of new legal entity - Cleansing and preparation of accounts in view of transfer to a joint venture - Clarify intercompany reconciliation mismatches - Resolve corporate reporting issues and improve corporate reporting process (HFM)

Outsourcing / Shared Service Center Position: Business Process Manager R2R for business area Vehicle Refinishes, Specialty Finishes and Aerospace Coatings. Outsourcing of accounting/reporting activities to 3rd party BPO (Infosys) in India/Poland and a captive shared service center. - Design standard R2R processes (SAP): Standard Operating Procedures, closing scripts, reconciliations, HFM reporting, etc. - Guide transition and facilitate workshops (US, MX, NL, PL, RU, ES, FR, IT, DE, UK, Nordics)

Support implementation Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

Design Master Data Management (MDM) concept (financial data): analyse use of financial master data, propose standards, provide guidelines for Global Master Data Management team; In addition some misc. tasks were performed; a.o. analyze and resolve GR/IR issues.

Various activities in the field of accounting and reporting (a.o. Hyperion BU/LE project) and support BU accounting managers with various IFRS and business related analyses / studies.

Support implementation of global accounting concept in SAP system (OneSAP project).

Member of International Accounting Forum (1 day per month) to discuss and decide on the incorporation of international accounting requirements / requests in the global accounting concept (implemented in the whole AkzoNobel organization).

Support implementation of global accounting concept in SAP environment (SLO-conversion); support merge of 2 SAP systems into 1 single system (BLEND project).

Design of a global accounting concept for both corporate reporting (external, managerial) and statutory reporting (covering country specific requirements).

Design standardized accounting concept (as work stream of a global management & reporting framework, GAINS).

Development and implementation of standardized accounting processes (SCOA) based on IFRS in an SAP template (MM, PP, IM, FI/CO, BW) to be rolled-out in 28 countries.

Support to internal project team with the development and implementation of a standard chart of accounts (SCOA) within business unit “European Products & Distribution”. Netherlands => part-time involvement.

Participation in development and implementation of global financial standardisation project [SAP]; with specific responsibility for IFRS compliant accounting procedures and standard chart of accounts (SCOA).
