Gretel Quintero Angulo

I conduct advanced research focused on mathematical modeling of the optical properties of axion-like excitations in topological insulators and dense matter under strong magnetic fields. My work also involves developing analytical and numerical general relativistic models to describe hydrostatic equilibrium in magnetized stars. This combination of cutting-edge research allows me to explore complex phenomena and contribute to our understanding of astrophysical and condensed matter systems.

I focused on modeling of dense matter under strong magnetic fields in astrophysical environments. I shared my findings through presentations at seminars and conferences and by publishing peer-reviewing articles. I supervised Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis students, providing guidance and fostering their academic development. I organized scientific conferences and engaged in outreach activities to disseminate scientific advancements.

During this period, I directed departmental strategy and coordinated teaching activities, implementing hybrid learning platforms to strengthen student engagement. I co-developed a new Bachelor of Physics program, officially launched in Cuba in September 2024, and contributed to faculty recruitment and broader academic development initiatives.

I delivered courses in Statistical Physics, Mathematical Methods for Physicists, Mathematical Analysis, and Analytical Geometry, fostering a deep understanding of these subjects among students. I mentored students and young professors, guiding their academic growth and professional development. I evaluated doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s theses, ensuring high academic standards, and participated in reviewing candidates for Instructor and Assistant Professor positions.

I lectured on Statistical Physics, Mathematical Methods for Physicists\Engineers, Theoretical Mechanics, and Analytical Geometry, sharing my passion for these subjects with students. I designed curricula, planned courses, and developed academic programs to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. I reviewed Master’s and Bachelor’s theses maintaining high academic standards. I evaluated the performance of assistant students and professors in training, supporting their professional growth.
