My PhD consists in the development of formation flight strategies for civil aircraft in extended formation flight (, i.e., flying tens of wingspans one behind the other). Similarly to migratory birds, a following aircraft can consider taking advantage of the upwash winds induced by the wake vortices produced by the leader. The innovative idea of my thesis is to exploit the 6 degrees-of-freedom dynamics of the follower, through onboard dynamic sensors, to predict the position of that wake in real time.

Thanks to an industry-oriented learning process and strong collaborations with the aerospace industry, I was given the chance to apply technical disciplines to applied workshops and projects. In particular, collaboration, innovation and management skills were stimulated. I developed a strong interest in applied mathematics and turbo-machinery (Magna cum laude).

I have focused my curriculum on energy transport and production, renewable energy and fluid mechanics with a more theoretical approach (Magna cum laude). My master project consisted in the design of an innovant energy self-sufficient pumping station, based on wind energy (Team-work, planning, organization, innovation)

I laid the foundations of my knowledge in mechanics, electricity and mathematics, as well as dedicated engineering tools (Magna cum laude).
