James took the opportunity to work in a wider professional services environment by joining one of his clients, Ernst & Young, where he managed the provision of interim managers to clients of the firm. Dealing at the most senior level he typically placed heads of function such as Finance, Marketing and IT Directors.

Hhe spent 5 years with Harvey Nash, a global IT Search & Selection Consultancy. As Senior Account Manager, James was responsible for all recruitment activities on a retained basis for a number of clients, including two of the firms’s top ten accounts. Both these accounts were each worth in excess of £100k in fees a year and, in the case of one account, 40 placements in one year.
