- CFD simulations to help improve flow in positive displacement pumps, blowers and compressors. - Perform Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) flow simulations to help with improving cooling in positive displacement machines. Fluid-Structure-Interaction (FSI) simulations to help avoid resonance/vibration in positive displacement machines. - FEM simulations of positive displacement pumps, compressors and blowers. - Drive train analysis-Torsional vibration problem investigation using lump mass models
Working as research assistant at the Institute of Steam and Gas Turbines, RWTH Aachen University - Support various projects like SFB 686 (Model based control of low temperature combustion) - Participate and support Professor Dieter Bohn in teaching and research (Preparation of lecture slides, etc) - Tutor and mentor and supervise students working on their thesis
3 Monate, Jan. 2011 - März 2011
Research Engineer
B & B AGEMA
Worked on project for KHI (Kawasaki Heavy Industries) and did the following: - Structure analysis of gas turbine blades using FEM and DATES. - Sensitivity analysis of compressor blades using star-ccm+.
6 Monate, Apr. 2005 - Sep. 2005
Working Student
Alstom Schweiz AG
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of gas turbine burner for varying flame temperatures and CFD validation of gas turbine burner with experimental results.
- Designing 3D models using Pro/Engineer and grid generation using the pre-processing tool from the CFD code GMTEC & ICEM CFD. - Mini thesis on the topic: ‘Implementation of the “No Time Counter” (NTC) algorithm for spray collision in the in-house CFD code GMTEC-GS. I did the following: - Incorporated the “No Time Counter” (NTC) algorithm developed by Prof. David Schmidt, Univ. of Massachusetts Amherst in the CFD code GMTEC. - Compared the NTC scheme with the O’Rourke scheme in GMTEC.
