Manage the company’s IT daily operations mainly maintaining Unix and Linux systems - Work includes implementing, moving, installing and upgrading AIX partitions - Perform project work as required. Successfully planned, designed and installed the company’s Linux concept which is RedHat 5.x) - Implemented into production on completion of successful testing. Successfully upgraded and moved virtual AIX partitions to new hardware platform. Automated installs with RHEL Satellite, Kickstart and Cobbler.

Implemented Solaris systems for Maersk Line and ISuSE based systems for Maersk Air (with Lufthansa) Managed all daily operations and provided on call duty on mission critical systems. Streamlined and established improved IT standards and procedures including internet and email guidelines to comply with IBM policies in the wake of their takeover. Successfully rolled out the ‘NetLine’ Linux system into production. Implemented the first stages of a global shipping system for Maersk Line.

Provided reactive support and proactive initiatives to all users working for the county including high-priority support to users in City Hall - Work involved analysis, planning and troubleshooting urgent issues Rolled out of a new IT infrastructure for all users in the county based on Netware 5 and Windows NT 4. Recommended and encouraged all schools to use a standard IT platform to enable easier and more cost-effective management.
