Jean-Michel Jacoulot was the Chief Executive Officer of the company for nine years, from 2007 to 2016. During his tenure, he oversaw the completion of a series of successful acquisitions of mid-life assets and of major development projects, which resulted in a doubling of the Group’s reserves and operated-production to 450,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).

As Perenco’s Country General Manager for Guatemala, Jean-Michel Jacoulot supervised the operation of the business unit and his responsibilities included Business Development and Relationships with the Regulatory Authorities. In this role, he was in charge of managing the production of 25,000 barrels of oil per day, two oil fields, a refinery, an asphalt business with 100 trucks, 500 kilometres of pipeline with six pumping stations, and an onshore terminal.

Jean-Michel Jacoulot was hired as Perenco’s Country General Manager for Venezuela to manage the building up of the subsidiary which had recently been acquired from BP. He then oversaw the integration of a subsequent acquisition from Phillips (now ConocoPhillips). He supervised operations at the business unit and was in charge of Business Development, also managing the firm’s relationships with the local Regulatory Authorities and the National Oil Company of Venezuela.
