Jim Kimbro

During my co-op at BMW I have worked in the vibrations and acoustics department. My responsibilities have included setting up and running vibration tests on different structures. Some of the tests I have been involved with have included, impact testing, modal analysis, and laser testing on different structures. I have been able to set up and analyze the results of the different tests.

During my co-op at Clarke Power, I worked mostly on design with Autodesk Inventor ranging from brackets, enclosures for generators, to shipping containers. I saw the different designs through brainstorm and its revisions, through getting quotes from vendors, to final production. I have gained a lot of 3D design experience as well as communication skills while talking with vendors and shop employees to design the best possible part.
