I manage and edit language and copy from non-native authors for online and print publishing. I work with publishers like Routledge and Campus and publish peer-reviewed texts of 5,000-20,000 words. This involves managing authors, freelance editors, designers, printers, and reviewers; preparing manuscripts for typesetting and online publishing formats; indexing; substantive editing; as well as managing timelines, data, contracts, and copyright issues.

I taught at the Berlin School of English and Fokus Sprachen und Seminare, and served corporate, exam preparation, and individual clients, ranging from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1) levels. I trained on site at client offices, and used a mixture of specialised and authentic teaching material. My clients included the Bild am Sonntag politics department and the Landesvetretung Niedersachsen.

I worked as a contractor with Generation Global, a global education programme from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (formerly from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation). I led international video-conferences by advising teachers, analysing dialogue, and developing student communication skills. I developed the dialogue skills of more than 1,200 school students; advised more than 80 teachers; facilitated over 60 hours of dialogue; and prepared and tailored agendas for over 40 conferences.

I established a web-based education platform by developing concept notes, commissioning and editing reports, refining criteria and quality controls, negotiating with partners, recruiting authors, and editing and publishing content. I developed thematic competence in religion and conflict, with a focus on Al-Shabaab and the Taliban. I learnt about sub-editing and substantive content editing, as well as short publishing deadlines through newsletter production.

I developed the Faith and Globalisation Database, a Tony Blair Faith Foundation project. I prepared a data visualisation platform by managing a database, recruiting external partners, and analysing data. I assessed over 200 datasets; secured consent for re-use from 25 copyright owners; managed over 40 project meetings; and took responsibility for project reporting.

I worked within Social Housing for Cloverdale House, a home for young adults with learning difficulties. I dealt with unpredictable, difficult and vulnerable clients by developing their independent living skills.

I was contracted by a social enterprise using facilitated dialogue to find voluntary solutions to social concerns. I advised senior executives by consulting industry experts, researching best practice, mediating with community representatives, and delivering comprehensive written reports. I established two volunteer schemes; developed workforce planning expertise in Hospitality and Civil Service sectors; and wrote reports for five senior executives at the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce
