I wrote a series of Alexa Skills and created a state-of-the art automated deployment of these skills using Jenkins Pipelines and a Kubernetes Cluster on AWS. The travel insurance skills I wrote got a positive review in Frankfurter Allgemeine (among others) and won the award Deutscher Exzellenz Preis 2019 of the Deutsche Institut für Service Qualität

WeWatt produces furniture with both an integrated human powered electricity generator and a smart meter. I was asked to create an app that is able to monitor the energy production, in real-time as well as aggregated over a longer period

In 2017 Siemens started development of an ambitious new Customer Portal to inform Gas Turbine customers about the performance of their assets. I acted as technological lead and set up a secure and scalable microservice architecture in AWS. Initially I also did most of the DevOps works, setting up the code repositories and a CI server in the internal network. I wrote the complete frontend in Ember.js. Using Node.js I wrote an API Gateway service from scratch, with an auth layer for checking permissions.

Acrolinx sells a specialized text processing tool that detects spelling, grammar and style issues, together with a terminology management application to the big IT companies (Google, Paypal, Facebook, IBM, ...). Acrolinx is replacing old GWT-based frontends by Ember.js. I guided that transition and wrote the first new frontend. At Acrolinx I have also built a successful Proof of Concept for the replacement of a JasperReports+Oracle reporting tool by a ElasticSearch+Ember.js solution.

Parking Friend is used by travellers at the Geneva Airport to book a parking place and buy other car services. I took over the maintenance of the tool after the existing support contract expired.

Hstry is a nice online history education platform, written in Ruby/Rails and Ember.js, where both copy-writers and the community provide content, used in history lessons. I developed new features, and guided in a major refactoring of both back-end and front-end.

Swift replaces Oracle CoreId technology with a custom made solution. I acted as a Senior Java consultant, advisor on software architecture, JSF expert, and joined the existing team in developing new features

I started as a wind engineer, performing output simulations of new wind farms. I managed a framework agreement for guidance in the permit application trajectory of new wind projects in Belgium and followed-up wind measurement campaigns in Turkey. My software career started at 3E, by writing a data warehouse for wind measurement data. After 2 years I became lead developer of a distributed Java EE SOA application for reporting on the performance of industrial solar or wind energy power plants.
