Great small company, taking care of anything inside, from Brand development to Production management; also financial control and external services. Yes we have several interesting high value products for specialty niches in the processed food and snack market.

Europe time fine tuning a Mattress covers factory in Slovakia. I completed a full reorganization project that was launched under my tenure and also introduced several best practices for production management. Some time before that, similar actions that I implemented at the El Salvador branch company produced over 18% net profit. Not bad considering the factory was broken when I took over. Talk about planning, cost reduction, organization re-shape, efficiency increase and others.

We established and nourished this Winnipeg based endeavor that included new technologies like fabric welding instead of sewing (pretty cool process). The company produced winter jackets and I took over all support functions, developing bonus systems, payroll functions, import and export activities, shipping planning, suppliers development, social compliance and any new requirement and project. I did enjoy my time with these friends from Canada.

This position enabled me to get a better view of the Textile Apparel industry in El Salvador. BMI hired me to guide the efforts to boost the development of the industry and I was able to present a number of projects aimed at reducing the weaknesses of the industry in ES. A big hit was facilitating the agreement between local university USAM and North Carolina NCSU to establish a special 2 year associate degree in the textile fields that could later turn in a 4 year Textile engineer from NCSU.

Hong Kong business at its best. My functions are better described as a manufacturing director for the El Salvador branch, managing all production process and many technical support functions, including some that I introduced like forecast & planning and product development. I introduce the first CAD/CAM system in ES and one of the few cabin sandblasting for apparel. Also created an embellishment department and was main instrument to bring the company to its best financial position.
