I continued to work as a Software Developer after my traineeship ended. I continued to work on the APPone ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, maintaining old programs and building new ones. But I was also assigned new projects within the company. I produced a RESTful Python backend with CherryPy and Postgres which serves JSON data to a variety of frontends (Xojo Desktop GUI, Web Browser). This was developed with Test Driven Development and deployed with Docker.

I was responsible for developing and maintaining new programs for the APPone ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) industry using the Xojo programming language (a cross-platform basic-like language). During this time I was also learning and using git version control and the Informix database. For a few months each year I was sent to the Klara-Oppenheimer Schule in Würzburg, Bavaria for the school component of the traineeship.

I was a trainee motorcycle salesman. My job was to sell BMW and Triumph motorcycles to customers, as well as sell them motorcycle insurance and also organize vehicle registration for new vehicles sold and the transfer of trade-in vehicles from their previous owners to the company.

Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung translates to Software Development Specialist and this certification is the school component of the German traineeship. I had many subjects but the focus was on Software Development and computer hardware and networking.

This was a university introductory course designed to train potential students for university. I decided against going to University after the course, but I still completed it.
