I was part of the Einstein Research Unit: „Climate and water under change“. My role was to generate data that leads to an understanding of how an increasing incidence of drought, floods and fires affects soil hydraulic properties and microbial communities in urban and rural settings of the Berlin-Brandenburg region.

Research assistant on the FunTrait project. This project developed a high throughput culturing method with the aim of characterizing enzyme activities among fungal isolates obtained from natural grasslands. This project was part of the special program “German Biodiversity Exploratories” with support of the DFG.

Research on the community ecology of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in a tropical mountain forest in south Ecuador. This work led to my doctoral dissertation.

Assistance during the installation of 10 artificial canopy bridges to facilitate movement of canopy fauna in fragmented ecosystem in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Non-invase monitoring of wildlife using bridges with camera traps.
