Julien Maurandy

PROCEED is a research and technology programme, co-funded by the German Space agency (DLR). We develop and mature many different technologies across a wide range of disciplines and systems. As the chief engineer, my role is to ensure that the company needs are well defined and that the technologies being developed do answer those. In addition, my responsibilities include the continuous evaluation of the return of investment of our technological development to support the stirring of budget allocations.

The responsibilities of a Systems Engineer include the preparation of the product's specification, the supervision of its design, and the orchestration of its manufacturing, assembly and verification in the frame of predefined schedule and budget. Although I sometimes support other projects, I currently mostly work at component level on the European Service Module of the Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV).

Assuring coordination between subcontractor and local design Team. My position therefore covers technical aspects, through the provision of inputs and the assessment of the deliverables, as well as management aspects, through the organisation of our subcontractor's scope of work and schedule.
