This involved running a set of test suites on the kernel and analysing test failures to see whether the failure was due to the test being simply out of date with respect to the operating system or due to a genuine system bug.

First I developed utilities to convert files of various formats to pure binary, for example ASCII to binary. The second part was to program the Flash EPROMs on the various boards comprising the B20 system.     Department: Technology. Software Development, June 1991 - December 1991: Worked at Siemens-Nixdorf in Augsburg. I developed the multiplexor which is part of the firmware in terminals connected to MX300 and MX500 computers. The flow control and error checking of the multiplexor was based on a hybrid of the HDLC protocol. The multiplexor was developed in C and debugged using the Intel 8031 ICE.

The program ran under UNIX and the interface used the CURSES library. January 1991 - June 1991: Developed a program to integrate mathematical functions. This program, written in C, ran under UNIX. The mathematical integration was done using an algorithm based on Gaussian Quadrature Rules.
