As a research associate I am currently in charge of the Research Data Management Organiser (RDMO) at KIT, providing support for researchers in research data management (RDM), thus teaching scientists the principles of RDM. I also advice them on their research proposal (EC Grants etc.), guiding them how to handle their own research data.

Objective: For better research data management RDMO (Research Data Management Organiser), a research data management planing tool, was developed by the AIP. At KIT we work on ameliorating data management templates for the scientists and on assisting researchers on their daily hurdles with research data management.

Objective: The Project "bwFDMinfo" aims at providing information and services to scientist how to manage their research data effectively. The overriding goal is to increase scientific output in BW via securing (archiving) and sharing (licensing) primary research data. Therefore one aim was to establish an information portal on the topics for better management of research data, which is available at https://www.forschungsdaten.info/

Research project on the distribution of gmo feral rapeseed plants along major transportation routes within Germany. Goal is to establish a monitoring concept, whose applicability will be tested during a field trial.

PhD “Impacts of tropospheric ozone on semi-natural ecosystems”, Supervisors Prof Mike Ashmore, Dr Sylvia Toet -Taxonomic skills on grassland and mire flora, plant/soil ecol. methods -Ecological modelling (Linear regression, mixed modelling), general statistical skills using SPSS and CANOCO for multivariate statistics -Experiences in programming data loggers -Flux calculations and measurements of green house gases (CH4, CO2, O3), including parametrisation of the ozone grass flux model, stomatal conductance

Working on a PhD project of different Fabacae species. Assistance with laboratory work as well as supervision of green house experiments.

MSc thesis; A field study on the pollution of forested ecosystems with cadmium (Cd) from geogenic sources and ancient mining activities. Measuring the Cd content in soil, and in different plant and animal species using acid microwave digestion and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.

Student assistant on different projects including the effects of elevated carbon dioxide on crops. Assistance with laboratory work, helping organizing student practical, and supervision of green house experiments.

Project: “Effects of Antibiotics on Soil Microorganisms”. - Testing different concentrations of four different antibiotics on two bacterial test organisms, and testing the absorbance of antibiotics within the soil - microbial soil respiration (SIR), potential ammonia oxidation and determination of NOEC, LOEC and EC50 (cell proliferation test), and phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA).

Trainee on a working farm in Germany. Assistance with day to day work; labour organization, team work, agricultural practices in potato, sugar beet, rye and barley farming and live stock.
