Creating two Excel interactive databases (using VBA) in order to have an overview of all the tasks performed in the distribution center and to optimize the allocation of jobs to the employees. Product quality control. Planning and monitoring production. Sales and technical assistance. Assessing refractory materials in order to choose the appropriate and cost effective refractory linings for each application in the metal industry.

Studying and outlining alkaline elements’ influence on slag viscosity based on literature researches and mathematical models. Project goal: improve the company’s viscosity software coverage. Main results: adjustments to the software parameters were suggested for potential implementation.

Conducting thermic treatments, metallography and mechanical testing. Project goal: determine the optimal conditions of temperature and cooling rate for better impregnation of carbon fibers in thermoplastic materials. Main results: the optimal conditions were found, but it was suggested to use other methods of thermic treatments, aiming to achieve better impregnation of the carbon fibers.

Monitoring steel production (steel plant, hot rolling and cold rolling). Supporting projects on improving production (and efficiency of production) of a particular steel. Applying the “5-Why Methodology” in order to identify fundamental causes of production problems in the company. This work has enabled the company to establish corrective actions in order to improve steel production.
