Luis Carvalho

Clipkit is a video syndication and monetization platform. My focus is divided between the Clipkit's embedded player (one part with Vanilla JS and other with JS + jQuery) and the web application (angularJS). My mission is to guarantee quality, performance and timely delivery of our product, while ensuring that my stakeholders and our customers are happy.

As part of a Scrum team, I worked in two of Betfair’s projects: Sportsbook (https://betfair.com/sport) and Timeform (https://form.timeform.betfair.com). I've mainly used HTML, CSS + LESS, JavaScript + YUI and Freemarker. I mentored one trainee and was responsible for guarantying code quality and cross browser standards. I was part of the design standards group and occasionally conducted code review sessions.

Began as a trainee for the Master's degree in Computer Science and was invited to be part of the team, where I remained for 3 years. Declarativa worked mostly for the public sector (e.g. CCDR-N) building web applications for document and task management. In a small company like this, I was a true full stack developer. From database with Microsoft SQL Server to frontend with HTML, Javascript and CSS.
