I'm in charge of leading and directing the internal audit global services for all Private Banking, Broker/Dealers and Fiduciary Activities at BBVA Group. Based in Mexico, I lead a team of 12 people based in Spain and Mexico, and have access to a pool of other 35 specialized auditors worldwide to meet the needs of specific projects.

With special focus on Private Banking, Asset Management and Market and Trading Activities, I conducted assurance and consulting engagements for financial groups, planned and supervised field work, prepared audit programs, coordinated multinational teams of up to 20 auditors, advised the Senior Management on internal control requirements and its implementation, participated directly in the field work in cases of special complexity or risk and was actively involved in the follow up of proposed recommendations

I was responsible for planning and defining the scope of audit projects and analyzing the processes of the audited units, identifying risks and proposing recommendations. I trained the auditors in my team and supervised field work to ensure quality and compliance with established methodology, with special focus on asset management and insurance activities. Between 2002 and 2003 I specialized in the audit of asset management and private banking activities in Europe, USA and Latin America, leading groups of 2
