The position involved providing management consulting services to private and public sector clients, particularly in the area of marketing, strategic planning and institutional strengthening.

Represent the Barbados private sector and private sector organisation members in discussions with government relating to national policy matters that impact on members and the Barbadian society as a whole. Head the Barbados Private Sector Trade Team (PSTT) which influences regional and international trade negotiations on behalf of the private sector.

Represent the private sector and private sector agencies in discussions with government relating to policy matters that impact on the members and the Barbadian society as a whole. Sensitizing the private sector on external factors that provide opportunities and threats to their development. Influence, through advocacy, the existing social, economic and business environments in order to create sustainable economic progress for all Barbadians.

This position involved the launching of AT&T Wireless' operations in the island of Dominica, managing and growing the business, which would soon become Cingular Wireless. In Jan. 2005 I was given additional responsibility for the island of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Involved restructuring the department to make it more competition oriented; developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies as well as managing the sales department including a staff of Account Managers, Sales Representatives and sales support; full business responsibility for voice, data, Internet, mobile and direct and indirect sales; formulation of the department’s annual expenditure budgets and the company’s sales projections; and achievement of incremental and retention sales revenues.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the position involved the management and overall responsibility for the planning and implementation of all functions of the organisation. This position also involved the organisation’s re-engineering in order to increase its revenue generating ability, the management of an annual budget of over Bds. $19.5 M.
