Dr. Manale Maalouf

In my position, I work on alternative energy specifically fuel cells. I study the chemical stability of polymer membranes for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) application. I am responsible of the planning, execution and progress of the project.

In this position, I was a member of a team working on developing new non-platinum catalysts for application in fuel cells and lithium-air batteries. My task was to study the electrochemical activity of such catalysts and their efficiency in their target application.

As a graduate teaching assistant, I delivered lectures and supervised laboratory sessions for chemical engineering laboratory, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat & mass Transfer and process control courses.

In this role I employed my research skills to design a process for recycling polyethylene (PE) waste from the different polyethylene manufacturing units and introduce it to the company. My organizational and methodical skills helped me to organize and assemble a procedural plan to produce cores for PE rolls. I completed four projects and delivered it in timely manner.
