Technical consulting for valve supplier developing their products for nuclear market

Responsible for the department Auxiliary and special components. It is composed of 20 employees working for the supply of nuclear valves and 30 employees for the special components like handling devices for the nuclear fuel, pools, hatches and airlocks, cranes and monorails. As department manager, I managed the budget and priorities inside the department, maintained our know-how through competence management program and validated the development plan for our personal.

Responsible for the valve team (10 engineers). Field of activity was the qualification of nuclear valves, the development of new design, the valve technical specifications and the assessment of potential suppliers. As section manager, I managed the human resources aspects and the technical competencies. I developed the qualification competence in Germany, harmonized the valve specifications between France and Germany , and developed new working process to reduce the engineering costs.

Responsible for the qualification of the french EPR nuclear plant project and for the internal processes harmonization between Germany and France.

Responsible for the valve supply of one supplier (VELAN) to the Finnish EPR nuclear plant. I checked the supplier design according to the Finnish technical specifications and negotiated the deviations with the customer. During that period, I developed different calculation methodologies to implement physical phenomena like water hammer, thermal binding and so on in the design conception of the valves.

Responsible for the thermo-hydraulic calculations of the nuclear steam generators for the project Saint Lucie in the USA.
