I was promoted from COO to CEO, resp. President on 01st February 2009. Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) is in operation since May 24th, 2008. The entire BIAL team is proud of the achievements it reached since airport opening; we provide an efficient and cost effective airport environment to the airlines and high customer experience to the passengers. BIAL received various awards and accolades within the short time of airport operation.

I was responsible to build up the operation at new Bangalore International Airport. Our Greenfield airport opened on 24th May 2008. The following units reported to me: Daily Operation (Terminal Management, Apron and Airport Operation Control Centre), Safety (incl. Emergency), ARFF, Security, Planning & Statistics, Airline Marketing, Aviation Contracts, Operation Coordination and ICT.

Head of Swissport’s ground handling operation at Zurich Airport. Zurich is the largest organisation of Swissport International. Swissport handles some 60 customer airlines at Zurich Airport, which represents a market share of some 80%. We handled 95’400 flights in 2005. Swiss International Air Lines is the main customer; other customer airlines are Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, SAS, Singapore Airlines, Thai, and United, to name just a view. Swissport Zurich employs about 2100 employees.

All the Sales and Marketing representations in Asia and the Middle East reported to me. Sales turnover: CHF 350 Mio. Staff strength: about 200 employees. Main markets: Japan, Hong Kong, China, India, Thailand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Australia. Next to sales and marketing in the Asian and the Middle Eastern region, I was partly responsibility for the profitability of the Asian and Middle Eastern routes, in coordination with network planning. (Route Manager) Covering the same responsibilities as mentioned under Swiss International Air Lines. In addition, I was in charge of all the ground services organisations of Asia and the Middle East.
