EIFELER COATING TECHNOLOGY, ST. CHARLES, IL Serve as the technical liaison between the customer and Eifeler Coating Technology. Review, establish and maintain the process path files in the Visual Shop program. Review and establish methods of fixturing of parts for coating cycles including development of new and/or improved fixturing methods. Develop, implement, and maintain a fixturing maintenance program. Review and develop cleaning processes and coating removal process

Responsible for frontline sales of PVD coatings, application support for internal and external customers, tradeshow booking and operations. Operations support to management and technicians, quality systems, equipment repairs, process development, fixturing design and implementation.

Design, develop, and transition into production, new optical thin film coatings for precision optics. Support research and development, and manufacturing, with product development. Cost modeling and quotation per customer provided RFQs. Develop and implement test procedures and test equipment specifications and procedures. Monitor production processes and equipment for yield and cost improvement initiatives.

Supported the Hard Coating Sales Director and Key Account Managers in all sales and product application activities related to PVD coatings and systems. Primary technical consultant for coatings customers. Research and development of PVD coatings and the implementation of new coatings. Assisted systems engineering to research and develop resolutions for customer applications, issues, and sales.

Supervised 50 employees on 3 production shifts. Scheduled production for both Tool Coating Division and High Volume Automotive Coating Division. Responsible for 5S, lean and quality system initiatives, workflow process and delivery improvements. Served as primary customer contact for product advice and delivery scheduling. Led manufacturing in successful TS certification, implementation, training and auditing

Supervised performance testing of coated cutting tools. Audited internal and external coating facilities. Maintained coating vendor matrix, qualifying or disqualifying vendors based on audit results. Audited cutting tool manufacturing facilities to ensure processes were compatible with coating system technology. Led the expansion and upgrade of the coating facility. Hired and trained coating facility staff. Managed the quality system for the indexable insert manufacturing business unit.

Supervised a staff of 30 employees in production coating facility.
