Assessments for a large gas turbine manufacturer prepared with the tool. • Preparatory work for operational due diligence for M&A activities in the energy and industrial drives branches.

• Technical and team lead for New Product Introductions for plant level service solutions for conventional steam power plants, predominantly in India and China; • Assignment tender planning & site logistics for packing of segmented reactor components within the reactor buildings of German PWR and BWR units; • Assignment as heat exchange equipment project engineering manager for the turbine hall heat exchange equipment for a new build nuclear plant.

• leading & participating in technical reviews; • leading & participating in HAZOP studies; • preparing and checking performance guarantee & tender texts; • ensuring experience feedback within the Plant Solutions Centre.

Leading the site engineering support group covering steam turbine, generator and associated auxiliaries on the Laguna Verde 1 & 2 Extended Power Up-rate project: • solving technical issues arising at site; • preparing updates to modification packages and collating as-built information; • preparing responses to contractual correspondence on technical issues; • close out of punchlist items. After provisional acceptance, I remained on site as warranty engineer.

Developing thermal power plant retrofit technical solutions for potential projects worldwide, both during the pre-acquisition (Front End Engineering Design) phase and in response to requests for quotation, ensuring economic solutions to meet the customers’ technical and regulatory needs with acceptable margins and risk profiles. Typical values for the type of scope being quoted were in the range € 10 – 150 M.

Lead of the Turbine Island section of a multi-company study on behalf of the UK government to assess application of technologies (increased steam parameters, carbon capture and compression) for significant reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from existing UK coal fired power plants. Steam cycle modelling and steam path thermo-mechanical concept design Writing of echnical papers.

Undertaking acceptance testing and test witnessing of both new build and retrofit turbine plant for coal fired, nuclear and gas combined cycle plant worldwide. Debugging the in-house calibration and data logging software (VBA based).
