Matthew Beaven

Responsible for 12 countries spread across Asia, supporting the local finance teams to deliver, perform and support the commercial organisations.

I joined Xylem in the EMEIA headquarters in Schaffhausen, to head up the FP&A team for the largest region in the global company. Together with my small team we looked after all aspects of planning, forecasting, reporting and analysing the business, working across the region and also in conjunction with the Growth Centres (the product teams).

Having been promoted from within the team when my predecessor was promoted into a new role, I was responsible for managing a team across three countries. Together we managed all financial aspects of the company, including all receipts and payments, payroll, reporting, month end closing, statutory financials. We also ran the budgeting and forecasting routines for the business.

As one of the first people into a start-up environment I was involved in almost everything happening in the company. This included financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Additionally we setup a new benefits tracking/reporting reporting methodology and I directly supported the Brewing Raw Materials and Indirect categories.

I joined as the firm was expanding the head office in the UK, spending the first two years implementing new routines and reporting on global sales volumes and brand volume and profitabilty. As the company continued to expand the finance function I moved into the FP&A team, and carried on inventing, refining and improving. A key part of this process was change management, working with a wide variety of stakeholders to relinquish control and become part of a global programme.

Time spent in both Insolvency and Insurance Insolvency teams. Responsibilities included the day to day running of two Enron group companies, organising creditor committee and creditor meetings, reporting to to partners and to creditors on behalf of partners and preparing reporting to court and project managing across several open cases at any given time.
