Melanie Söllner

In the scope of my job at LANXESS Deutschland, I have been working in the tam regulatory affairs biocides. One of my main tasks is the implementation of a project management tool. I am working on general administrative tasks when it comes to registration of new products and am in close contact with colleagues and authorities abroad.

During my internship at the federal institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, I have gained deep insight in the work of different working groups such as pharmaceutical quality and clincial/pre-clinical assessment. I have been able to gain experience in editing study proposals for clinical studies.

- First knowledge of gaschromatography (GC) and combination techniques - preparation of samples for GC and types of quantification - theoretical basic knowledge of mass spectrometry

The topic of my bachelorthesis specialised on validation of an LC/MS-MS-Method for the detection and quantification of Benzodiazepines and Z-Drugs in biological material (blood, urine etc). I have also improved my skills in the preparation of biological samples and extraction methods. Therefore, I have mostly worked with liquid-liquid-extraction (LLE) as well as solid-phase-extraction (SPE). In the scope of this internship, I have also participated in two autopsies.
