PhD Thesis about: Programmed necrosis, inflammatory cytokines and oncolytic adenoviruses in ovarian cancer

After finishing my bachelor thesis, I kept on working on my project about "Cell death pathways downstream of Eiger/TNF"

I was writing my bachelor thesis about “Cell Death Pathways downstream of Eiger/TNF” in Drosophila melanogaster. Overall, during my work at the Beatson Institute I was able to improve and acquire skills in fly genetics and fly husbandry, also I have been trained in immunoflourescence and immunohistochemistry as well as flourescence microscopy and in the dissection of different Drosophila tissues.

I was working in the „Transgenerational Epigenetics in the Fly“ under the supervision of a postdoc. I was responsible for the husbandry of the flies and the performance of experiments ( RNA extractions, Western Blots, etc)

I was working as a student research assistant in the lab of laboratory technology and organic chemistry. I was responsible for the preparation and purification of solutions

I was doing a student research project about the “Cloning of synthesised cellulase genes”. I was responsible for the isolation of plasmid DNA, the digestion and cloning of the target genes into the expression vectors and their expression in E.coli

I was supporting a post doc in her project about “The Epigenetic Mechanisms in Obesity and Metabolic Disease in Drosophila melanogaster“. Here I was responsible for the husbandry of the flies and the performance of experiments

I was working at a project called "EMiD" (Entry system with integrated disinfection function). I was working there with an special interest in the photo catalytic effects of Titanium Dioxide nano particles and the UV Light induced sterilization of TiO2 coated glass-surfaces. Here I was mainly involved in the development, performance and evaluation of microbiological experiments.
