• Member of the Non Core Division Senior Operational Risk team supporting the strategy to rebalance the Group’s risk profile through the divestment of £252bn assets which were identified as no longer core to the continuing franchises of RBS. • Responsibility for monitoring the operational risk profile of the Non Core International Businesses and Portfolios going through divestment or wind down amounting to third party assets of £18bn across 25 countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

• Effectively managed a team of 6 Operational and Regulatory Risk professionals in the RBS Retail and Commercial businesses across the emerging markets of the UAE, Romania and Kazakhstan, as well as the Regional team in the Netherlands. • Successfully managed and coordinated the integration of the in-country Risk functions (Credit, Regulatory and Operational) across the emerging markets from ABN AMRO to RBS with responsibility to implement of the RBS Operational Risk framework.

• Effectively managed a team of 5 Risk professionals across Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium including coordinating deliverables in line with operational plans as well as the coaching and development of individuals. • Coordinated the delivery of a Europe wide programme of ongoing assurance testing over all key operational risk controls and processes, in line with RBS Group standards and policies, to support a stable control environment to facilitate further business development and growth.

• Successfully delivered the European audit plan, including management of audit teams and overseeing the resolution and closure of audit issues across 3 European locations. • Implemented adequate and effective compliance processes and controls, within the Internal Audit function, to ensure compliance with the German legal minimum requirements for Internal Audit based on the MaRisk regulation and the German Banking Act (KWG).

• Successfully managed an audit team in the delivery of a high profile regulatory audit (MaRisk) within the German entity of the RBS European Consumer Finance Business. This audit included an end to end review of the Credit, Provisioning and Trading processes as well as Risk Management Governance and Organisational Structure and Design. The audit team consisted of 8 team members working in 4 work streams and resulted in the identification of a number of material breaches in the regulatory requirements.

• Worked in various audit teams across the divisions of the RBS Group developing an understanding of key banking processes in Retail Direct, Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Financial Markets, Corporate Banking and Manufacturing.
