Working in the Customer Support team for Univa has proven to be a nice and interesting challenge since grid computing and HPC was a new thing for me. I love the fact that I can do in-depth analysis of our customer clusters setup and I can also help my team with a little Linux programming to improve the in-house applications.

Zed Media is an internet marketing company focused on development and management of large traffic websites. We are in the business for over 10 years and we have offices in New York and Amsterdam. Our websites include online flash games, tubes, adult search engines, adult video file-hosting, custom blogs, mobile. Main responsibility is to maintain all Linux operations, improve networking infrastructure, fixing servers and applications issues, and administering qualitative and continuous use of Linux servers

Company specialized in delivery Adobe and SpringSource custom made products. My roles : webmaster, SVN administrator, performed security updates and setup firewall rules, SPRING DM server setup, DNS maintainer.

VMware vSphere cluster based project. Started from scratch with planning, design, setup and administration. HA network designed with fail-over firewalls, managed switches and NIC bonding. Regular tasks includes fixing tomcat exceptions / failures, mysql replications and many other custom java / perl scripts. Other responsibility involves close collaboration with development and QA teams, assisting them to test and deploy new products into QA, development or stage network.

System and Network Engineer for the biggest Internet Cafe in Iasi. Main responsibilities: webmaster, network administrator for 120+ computers, managed LAN setup - routing with 2 ISPs, backup system using rsync server and automated backup scripts, install/configure/customize modules for Apache/ PHP needed by hosted sites, mysql administrator, DNS maintainer, servers monitoring and graphs using Cacti, samba administration / user restriction, mail server administrator - postfix, clamav, amavisd.

Worked as linux developer for 2 projects called PlutoHome (www.plutohome.com) and LinuxMCE (www.linuxmce.com). Main tasks involved backtracking reported system errors and finding solutions to fix them. Accomplished tasks involving the projects :fixing kernel module for some undetected USB keyboards (kernel USB module had to be changed and recompiled), added Gyro Mouse support on the system, developed a perl script to retrieve images from Flykr used for OpenGL screensaver of the system.

My tasks : network administrator for the two servers on which the site resides, improved security with firewall rules and intruder detection systems, install/configure/customize modules for Apache/ PHP, mysql administrator - optimized site's queries to improve speed, backup system using rsync server and automated backup scripts, servers monitoring and graphs using mrtg, mail server administrator.

Main tasks accomplished: heartbeat system for a company working in energetic industry, first huge mail server with virtual hosting done with postfix and mysql and also made tools for managing the mail accounts and aliases via bash, perl, perl and ncurses, php, VPN between locations done with IPSEC with racoon, on-site customer troubleshooting (windows problems).

Main tasks on my job description: complete install and setup for customer servers (web, mail, ftp, VPN), phone or visual contact with broadband customers (companies) in order to understand their needs and act accordingly, DNS maintainer, IP routing, QOS maintainer, setting up equipments (access points, Cisco routers/switches).

Main task accomplished: regional network monitoring and following strict procedures in case of emergency, babysitting broadband and home users by phone or on-site, doing technical troubleshooting, basic install for customer servers (the Linux/Unix learning period).
