My PhD program is focusing in synthesizing surface active molecules to functionalize nanoparticles. The synthesized molecules are organic macromolecules which can recognize other specific substrate as a guest via hydrogen bond interactions. These molecules are covalently bind to an anchoring group which allow them to attach on the surface of nanomaterials and render the surface properties of nanomaterials. This functionalization of nanomaterials can enhance their utilizations and applications.

My master thesis project was about functionalization of titanium dioxide nanoparticles using organic molecules. During my master program, I gathered knowledge and skills to synthesize organic phosphonate molecules, to purify, to analyze, and to utilize them for surface modification of nanomaterials. During the course, I have experiences in using lab devices such as NMR, UV-Vis, FTIR, DLS, Zeta Potential
