Remotely lead a team of primarily Java backend engineers, mentoring, collaboratively making software and system architecture decisions alongside team members and freelancers. Modernize a business critical legacy shipping platform with limited capacities, do risk assessments and mitigations, assist with compliance topics from tech perspective. Work closely together with the product team to plan and implement features, coordinate release schedules and gather information from users to improve the platform.

Maintenance of a business-critical Spring Framework project previously developed by an outsourcing company. Slowly evolving said project from a legacy project into a more modern software with focus on security and maintainability. Mentoring more junior developers, especially in regards to clean code and testing.

Working in Payment (mainly Backend & some Frontend). Focus: Payment provider integrations (like Credit Card providers, PayPal, etc.) and offering common web APIs (e.g. for configuring products and user specific offers) for other internal systems.

First three years: Apprenticeship (Fachinformatiker - Anwendungsentwicklung) Main focus: Offering external customers customized web shops using Oxid eShop. This included implementing custom designs and creating custom plugins for features missing from the stock shop software.
