AixMinerals provides services for customers which are looking for high quality mineral quantification of natural rocks, industrial processed raw materials and building materials like concretes or cements. Besides powder X-ray diffraction analysis as primary method for mineral quantification, AixMinerals offers various complementary analyses methods like X-ray fluorescence, determination of cation exchange capacities (e.g. clay minerals), gas physisorption (e.g. BET surface area and porosity) and many more.

My current research is part of the H2_ReacT project, a joint project funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research. The aim of this project is to address risks associated to hydrogen induced abiotic/biotic reactions as well as their impact on long term transport processes in underground storage sites. The focus of my research lies on solid state and dissolution-precipitation redox-reactions of iron oxides. My research has also a high potential for a sustainable usage of hydrogen in the future.

At the Süd-Chemie / CLARIANT AG and the Stephan Schmidt KG I worked on analytical characterization of clays in the laboratory and the evaluation for industrial applications. Additionally, I was involved in drilling projects for company owned mines. At the CRONIMET Mining AG I was evaluating project proposals for copper, cobalt and tungsten mines. In association with the RWE Power AG where I evaluated the risks related to combustion of clay rich coals by laboratory experiments.
