Nicolas Laporte

I built a scalable consulting and research framework across the all spectrum of alternative strategies (ranging from risk premia and hedge funds to private debt, private equity, venture capital, infrastructure), providing advises on funds, direct deal or co-investment opportunities for large family offices and institutions in the EMEA region. I also worked on topics related to impact investing and ESG.

I managed the investment sourcing, portfolio construction and risk monitoring of alternative strategies on behalf of UHNW and institutional clients while proactively participating to the marketing and sales of the teams’ capabilities across the EMEA region. I performed numerous public interventions on alternative investments outlooks, asset allocation and risk management topics.

I served as senior investment portfolio manager and member of the global pension fund investment committee. I participated to the management of the allocations in the hedge funds, emerging markets and commodities space, performing investment research and due diligence as well as developing portfolio construction methods using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

I oversaw the investment management of two of the five hedge funds discretionary books as well as any mandate requiring custom research. I recurrently came with innovative solutions that matched clients’ needs. I frequently led client meetings across regions, working closely with sales and marketing teams and I chaired bank presentations/panels on alternative investment topics.

I was day one member of the investment team working on the hedge fund allocation, conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligences on hedge funds while developing risk monitoring tools and leading several quantitative projects in the asset allocation space.

I was working on the quantitative portfolio construction team, developing innovative methods and models on allocation topics and how to quantify liquid and illiquid risks.
