Design Engineer who played a vital part as member of the MAP team, a delegation of the design office at the final assembly line and pre-final assembly line. Integral part of the team that solved technical problems discovered during final assembly. Further achievements as Design Engineer included: Solved structural and systems problems at T100 level ANDD by liaising with specialists from the relevant ATA systems: Completed outstanding works in a timely manner

Responsible for the top level system requirement document (TLSRD). Capture / formalize requirements from the aircraft contract / TLSTRD (top level structural requirement document), ensure stakeholder expectations are met, cascade / allocate to the appropriate level within project structure, validate / control modifications. Delivering reports on the project status to team members, upper levels and other stakeholders by providing adequate indicators / analysis, monitoring activities, milestones.

I attended a German course A1 at the Goethe Institute in Hamburg.

My role in this team is to maintain airbus documentation such as engineering baseline documents, Co-ordination Memos, etc. In addition to this monitoring of the deliverables from suppliers and report the status to management, documentation from suppliers has to be reviewed and a report written concerning my findings using a DRS form. Furthermore, I use a software package called DOORS to find /use and update the requirements related to the HLPTS document.

My daily duties involve the technical response of Manufacturing change request documents which have been generated by problems manufacturing the new aircraft. The MCR’s covered mainly mechanical and structural however a small percentage were for minor electrical problems. A Manufacturing Change Request is raised when there is a discrepancy between the design and the physical product being manufactured

Conceptual / production design of the Freighter oxygen system on all decks. This was inclusive of all detail, assembly and installation design and required drawing definition. Conceptual / production design of the Freighter Rain Repellent system lower deck section 13. This was inclusive of all detail, assembly and installation design and required drawing definition.

Conceptual / production design of Galley air-cooling systems in the main and upper decks. This was inclusive of all detail, assembly and installation design and required drawing definition. Additional responsibilities included Interface Control Documents (ICD’s) and Coordination Memos (CM’s).

Design of the fuselage systems for the NIMROD MRA4. System design included ECS, Fuel & hydraulic systems. Conceptual/production design and modification of existing components for the Essential & Avionics Cooling Ductwork, Cabin Conditioning, Bay Venting, Emergency Oxygen, Fuel Pipe work, Landing Gear Hydraulic Pipe work And Supporting Structure.

Feasibility studies to outline the detailed design of models & documentation for the manufacture and production of flexible & rigid foam manufacturing / cutting / handling machines. On the job training and transferring knowledge to staff on current software programmes associated with design.
