I am working with a team of software engineers in a Scrum environment, covering subjects such as the implementation of a data lake, natural language analysis and machine learning. I worked on a tool helped us maintain over 60 applications. I also worked on a persistence layer in WCF and REST API2 with very specific POCO templates , that made transactional updates across multiple database.I maintained tools used to control production and create the clippings that are sent to our customers.

Argus der Press is a leader in media based intelligence. We specialize in the monitoring, classification and analysis of media content. We deliver information such as the media reaction to a given event. I am working with a team of software engineers in a Scrum environment on tools that make this possible covering subjects such as the implementation of a data lake, natural language analysis and machine learning.

Within Global IT I continue to have the role of technical lead for the further development of the catastrophe modeling and pricing platform. I also made code reviews for outsourced development projects, coaching and making investigations into topics like pluggable WPF architecture and proof of concept examples for Cloud computing with Azure.

In April 2008 I was promoted to be "Head of Exposure and IT" within the research team. I continued to further develop the Common Platform. In order to meet these business requirements I used a wide range of Microsoft technologies including MS SQL2008, SSIS, SSRS, WCF, WPF, Click-Once, .Net 4.0, C#, VB.NET, MEF, EF4, String.Net. I have also build prototypes for HPC. I kept up to date with the latest programming techniques so that we can get the most out of our hardware.

I planned, created and maintained a platform for modeling and pricing catastrophe reinsurance programs from a diverse set of exposure data. This platform was the primary tool for underwriters and analysts to price catastrophe business in Zürich, Paris and Bermuda for evaluating catastrophe risk up to the tune of 400 M US premium.

I was responsible for further development of the Patient and Physician User Software. This software was the user interface to a medical device that measured continuously blood glucose of diabetic patients. The multilingual (8 language) UI guides Physicians through the process of calibration process that used compiled MATLAB scripts. In addition I was responsible for developing and implementing a Software Life Cycle that was compliant with GAMP3 (V-Model), CE, EN60601-1-4, ISO9001:2000 and FDA standards.

Specialist and .Net Applications Developer I assisted in the moving a Web data center based on Windows 2000 Active Directory from Moossendorf to Volketswil. This included a number of sizable undocumented DTS jobs. I was responsible for the servers in the DMZ as well as DTS jobs, which communicated to the back office Servers behind a duel homed split subnet checkpoint firewall. These servers included a MS Commerce 2000 Server using MS SQL 2000, a .NET application written in C-Sharp and RedDot 4.0 CMS

I was involved in the implementation and trouble shooting of a corporate WAN spreading over a number of countries. This touched upon all aspects of network design. - Workflow Tracking System for the provisioning and management of Customers. - Interfaces to Billing and Rating systems (eg Prospero, Prepaid card systems) - Invoice systems (combining the outputs of our billing systems to produce a unified Invoice) I was sent to Bangalore to setup a development environment that simulates our live system

I was responsible for the move of our main servers from Austria to Zürich. I built up a server farm consisting of DNS, GIS, SQL, MAIL, IIS, pcAnywhere, DLT Backup, Real Audio and Intershop including the Blue Windows Merchant Server solution. I was responsible for projects like the street finding on our GIS server. Administration of the News feed from Reuters and SDA. In between tasks I have been working on an SMS and web oriented early warning system using Java.

• Second Level Support: Support the Help desk with trouble shooting Windows 95, NT and 3.1 clients. • Client Integration: Implementation of new software for network downloads and shared execution. • Tools - Support: Scripts, Program utilities on demand for network and intranet applications. I have written tools in Visual Basic and C++. Automated installation jobs to maintain software on all PCs.

I installed and maintained a Novel 4.10 network with a fibre optic connection to computers controlled thermal solar collector and system tests located on the roof of the adjacent Engineering School. Together with an international group of scientist headed by the IEA I carried out research into the development of a dynamic (non-steady state) ISO test for solar domestic hot water systems. My work also included programming in Turbo Pascal and Delphe for data logging and system control.

I developed and optimised safe chemical process designs with particular attention to energy requirements, raw material and capital cost. The bulk of our work concerned the distillation of: Hydrogen Peroxide / water, Butene - 1 / C2-6, Methanol / water and DMF / water. I was trained in the configuration and installation of FOXBORO Intelligent Automation I/A control system software. This is a software package based on a VENIX operating system with a VRTEX real time executive. The system hierarchy is layered whereby specialised control processors deal with plant operation on small local area networks which can be interfaced to a wide area network. The hardware is very modular and with small changes to the configuration can be easily expanded.
